"Love me or Die"

‘Love me or die’: Police have unraveled the mystery of a Filipino man who was found in critical condition by a roadside in Shaab, allegedly with acid burns and injury to his head, reports Al-Watan daily. The man, identified only as Yourando, reportedly works as a nurse at Kuwait’s Military Hospital. Intensive police investigations reportedly led to the arrest of a compatriot maid, identified only as Mali, who is said to have admitted to throwing acid in the man’s face and hitting him on the head with an axe. The maid has reportedly told police that she befriended the man at Christmas time last year which later developed into a strong relationship.

The maid also claimed the man visited her secretly in her sponsor’s apartment several times and they made love. The maid added when she came to know about her ‘boyfriend’s’ relationship with another woman, she cut off ties with the man. However, one day he called her and expressed his desire to make love to her. The maid added she pretended to have agreed to his wish and when he arrived at the apartment she threw hot oil in his face and hit him on the head with an axe. Thinking the man was dead, she dragged the ‘lifeless’ body onto the street after stealing his IDs and a cell phone.

Master sergeant held: Security officials at the central jail disclosed yesterday that a master sergeant was involved in smuggling drugs inside the central jail for prisoners addicted to drugs. Police on guard there on suspecting his activities reported the matter to an undercover agent as the master sergeant seemed to portray himself as a 'man with a clean image,' and was respected by all due to his good reputation. The officials however decided to keep him under close surveillance to check if the reports were true. The day of his arrest, the guards searched him, as he was about to enter the jail premises, and were not surprised when they found several drug capsules in his possession. During interrogation he confessed that he smuggled opium, hashish and drug capsules seven times earlier after which he used to place the drugs inside toilets for the prisoners, who then took them from the hidden places. He also confessed that he did not take money from the prisoners for smuggling the drugs in, but the prisoners in return had provided him with a flat and a prostitute for his sexual pleasures in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. Police referred the disgraced sergeant to the relevant authorities and continued their interrogations to trace the prisoners involved.
